Weekdays 10-3 pm
Skip started his radio journey after his military service (1988 – 1992) in the United States Coast Guard, by attending and graduating from Ohio university.
After not learning much, mostly because he studied television, he found there wasn’t much money to be made in tv……
After college, he kicked around a few years in east Tennessee, employed by two tv stations for a couple of years, when Ohio called him back home. He got his first taste of radio in 2000 with 1320 WLOH am in Lancaster, covering Cleveland Indians’ baseball games and producing commercials, then took on a morning show for Logan, Ohio’s 98.3 WLGN, and Saturday nights/Sunday afternoons at downtown Columbus’ 95.5 WLOH.
After working for 3 stations at one time, his searches for other employment brought him to landing a job in 2003 at Dothan’s 96.9 WDJR (which made for some interesting days, as he was working for a station, who their direct competitor had the same station numbers that he was previously working for….) As “on air” and “production director” and has been a constant presence for the past 13 years in varying capacities….
Mid-days at 96.9, mornings on 102.5 WESP, back to mid-days on 96.9, afternoons on 96.9, back to mid-days on 96.9 and finally, mid-days on “Your Country “95.5 WTVY.
The guy just can’t hold a steady job……
